Milner Safe Serial Numbers Free
- The safe on the right - also pictured elsewhere on the site - is a John Tann List No.3 number 7555 (1880). It embodies the main features of the 1865 Patent No.695. Although the pull handle is missing, the boltwork was operated by a removable 'T' handle through the hole at the bottom of the name plate.

Hey
A friend of mine picked up this beatifully decorated Milner safe and has been thinking of restoring it properly, as the paint has chipped in some areas and needs some love. The safe is with one original key and one duplicate.
Can someone identify from which year it is or is the year in the cast logo the actual year? I think it says either 1857 or 1887. I googled about these Milners and seems that the square corners puts it into that era and the lock is 7 levers and key has no letter stamped in it, so that checks out too.
It's just that I've never found a photo of a safe like my friends with the decorative 3D-trimmings on the door. If somebody can point to more information of this, would be very much appreciated

Registers
These on-line versions of the registers contain extracts of known items that are preserved in Museums or private collections. Many Chubb locks are still in daily use and for security reasons are only included with the express permission of the owner. The registers show known basic details plus any additional information uncovered by research as well as annotations.
With serial numbers running into the millions its not practical to list here every item. We are happy though to consider including items that are still in existence, therefore do tell us about yours. In any event we are happy to look up our records and provide more information such as date etc. about your specific lock, so do get in touch. You can use the links at the foot of every page, or see our Contact Us page for more information, we would be pleased to hear from you.
